Pneumatic control valves are now widely used, with a wide variety of valve types. However, we need to be prepared during use. Let's take a look at the maintenance and installation principles of pneumatic control valves together with New Europe!

Malfunctions of pneumatic control valves during use can pose a significant threat to the normal and stable operation of the system. Therefore, maintenance of the control valves is required to reduce the incidence of valve failures.

1. Passive maintenance of pneumatic control valve

When the pneumatic control valve malfunctions, it is necessary to conduct maintenance on the control valve, identify the cause of the malfunction, and carry out timely repairs.

2. Preventive maintenance of pneumatic control valve

Regular cleaning should be carried out on the regulating valve to maintain its hygiene and the integrity and durability of all components. The pipeline should be flushed regularly, and attention should be paid to blockages and debris in the pipeline. The fixed fittings of the regulating valve should be inspected regularly to ensure good anti-corrosion and lubrication performance of the components.

When installing pneumatic control valves, reduce the phenomenon of hard pulling and bending during installation, lower pressure, and minimize deformation. Maintain the distance between the regulating valve and the compressor to reduce vibration from the vibration source. Regularly inspect the regulating valve, closely monitor its operation, check for any leaks in the packing, and regularly add lubricating oil to the packing.

3. Predictive maintenance of pneumatic control valve

By using intelligent instruments or other diagnostic devices to obtain operational information of the regulating valve, the regulating quality and diagnostic function of the regulating valve can be enhanced. Through the diagnosis of intelligent instruments or other diagnostic devices, problems with regulating valves can be detected in a timely manner, and solutions can be found for maintenance. Increase the development and use of intelligent valve positioners.

Installation principles for pneumatic control valves

(1) The installation position of the pneumatic control valve should be at a certain height from the ground, and there should be some space above and below the valve for disassembly, assembly, and repair. For regulating valves equipped with pneumatic valve positioners and handwheels, it is necessary to ensure easy operation, observation, and adjustment.

(2) The regulating valve should be installed on a horizontal pipeline and perpendicular to the pipeline, generally supported under the valve to ensure stability and reliability. For special occasions where the regulating valve needs to be installed horizontally on a vertical pipeline, the regulating valve should also be supported (except for small-diameter regulating valves). During installation, avoid adding additional stress to the regulating valve.

(3) The working environment temperature of the regulating valve should be within (-30~+60) and the relative humidity should not exceed 95%

(4) There should be a straight pipe section at the front and rear positions of the regulating valve, with a length not less than 10 times the diameter of the pipeline (10D), to avoid the valve's straight pipe section being too short and affecting the flow characteristics.

(5) When the diameter of the regulating valve is different from that of the process pipeline, a reducing pipe should be used for connection. When installing small-diameter regulating valves, threaded connections can be used. The fluid direction arrow on the valve body should be consistent with the fluid direction.

(6) To set up a bypass pipeline. The purpose is to facilitate switching or manual operation, allowing for maintenance of the regulating valve without stopping the vehicle.

(7) Before installation, the regulating valve should be thoroughly cleaned of foreign objects such as dirt, welding slag, etc. in the pipeline.
